He earned his medical degree from New York University in 1982. After completing a general surgery internship at Letterman Army Medical Center, Dr. Amrani spent three years on the orthopedic service of Martin Army Community Hospital at Fort Benning, Georgia. He then completed his orthopedic residency training at the University of Vermont in 1989. He was one of the first fellows in the Spine Surgery program at Emory University in Atlanta, and has been practicing spine surgery since he completed the training in 1990. Dr. Amrani has a special interest in scoliosis and other spinal deformities. He also has extensive experience treating tumors, infections and traumatic and degenerative conditions affecting the spine.
